Walking
There are many footpaths in and around Swanage and the Purbecks. The South Coast walk route passes through the area. A good starting place for walks is at Durlston Park which is well sign posted from the town centre.
Tilly Whim Caves Tilly Whim caves is the most easterly quarry in a stretch of quarries that exist along cliffs of the southern Purbeck ridge.
Swanage Railway
Swanage Railway currently operates on the six miles of track between Swanage and Norden The branch line from Swanage to Norden Park & Ride is the perfect way to see the beautiful countryside.
Fishing in Purbeck Swanage and the Isle of Purbeck is a good area for fishing, with beach and pier fishing to boat trips and mackerel trips, there is something to suit everyone.
Festivals & Swanage Carnival
Swanage and the surrounding area host a wide variety of festivals throughout the year. Once every year at the start of August Swanage comes alive as the carnival comes to town.
